I had just laid to rest an enemy, the battlefield was drowning in blood, the sky , too, was stained crimson. I arose my head to take on the next enemy, with my face bathed in their blood, my blade hungering for more of their flesh and my body and soul shredded to pieces, waiting for the war to end. And then I saw. Everybody stood still, the battles stopped, all watching with amazement the scene that played before them: Good and Evil emerged on the battlefield, a woman and a man, figures covered in only white, black and grey. With skin as white as milk, battle raiments and weapons they were the messengers that everyone feared. They stared at each other for a few moments, sinister smiles painting their pale faces. Suddenly they ran one towards the other, with their weapons drawn out, ready to taste flesh and drink blood. But, as they got close, they danced in a waltz of passion and hate, getting closer and closer to each other, their lips lusting for what should never take place between them. Pulled from the petrifying state of amazement by a question that stirred in my mind, I made a step forward, my mind racing and my lips opening to let the question take flight. For me the question became deaf, but they heard it, the question that stopped their eternal love and war. And it made their blood boil and reopened their hunger for killing. My blood filled the ground in an instant and, as I give my least breath, I write in it this letter to my future generations: live without knowing good nor evil.
Good and Evil,in my opinion, don't have a clear state, neither is pure white or black,or even grey, neither is allowed to wear angel wings or demon horns more than the other and they are not defined by gender. You won't tell which is which when you see them. This is the message I want my drawing to send to the world. I basically took all the defining elements for each of them and mixed them up An I chose these three non-colors because people always say that white stands for good and black for evil, while,in truth, between them is a middle factor, grey. The way they are dressed is to accentuate the feeling of confusion
And now my question: which one of them is Good or Evil?
Background stock from Mediums used: 0.3 2B mechanical pencil, mouse and Photoshop. Time it took: about 30 h. Working with only the pencil sketch and these three non-colors was harder than I thought.
